The wife of former President Jimmy Carter has been diagnosed with dementia. A statement from the Carter Center says Rosalyn Carter “continues to live happily at home with her husband, enjoying spring in Plains, [Georgia] and visits with loved ones.” The former first lady is 95 years old. In February, the family announced that Jimmy Carter was receiving hospice care. The Carters have been married more than 76 years and are the longest married presidential couple in American history.
