Donald Trump sworn in as 47th American president

America has a new president following the peaceful transfer of power in Washington. Donald J. Trump has been sworn in as the 47th president of the United States. After Chief Justice John Roberts administered the oath of office, President Trump declared that “America’s decline is over.” Echoing past campaign speeches, the president criticized parts of the federal government, including the Justice Department, and promised to confront the problem of illegal immigration — vowing to “put America first.”
