There’s a legal battle brewing between the Biden administration and the Republican governor of Texas.
The Justice Department is suing Governor Greg Abbott over a floating barrier that the state placed on the Rio Grande to stop migrants from entering the U.S. The lawsuit asks a court to force Texas to remove the barrier, citing humanitarian and environmental concerns. Abbott sent President Biden a letter that defended his state’s right to install the barrier, and wrote:“Texas will see you in court, Mr. President.”
