Democrats are facing an uphill climb in the battle to hold on to their majority in the Senate. Democrats will have to defend 23 seats in 2024, compared to just 11 for Republicans. Three of the Democrat seat in play are in states where president Trump handily defeated Joe Biden in 2020. Unless they manage the unlikely task of flipping a Republican-held set,  Democrats can only afford to lose ONE seat to maintain their paper thin majority, if president Biden can prevail in the presidntial race.
