DC’s frigid forecast scrambles Inauguration Day plans
Washington, DC’s frigid forecast has scrambled plans for Inauguration Day. With wind chill temperatures expected to be in the single digits and teens on Monday, President-elect Trump announced that the inauguration ceremony will be held indoors at the U-S Capitol. And the parade will be inside, too, at a DC arena. That’s forcing more than 200 thousand people who had hoped to witness the event on the National Mall to make other plans. Crews are already breaking down metal bleachers that would have been used for outdoor inauguration viewing stands. Trump said he didn’t want “to see people hurt or injured in any way” in the cold weather.
