Cruz Applauds Committee Passage Of Bill To Keep AM Radio In Vehicles

Senator Ted Cruz [R-TX] is applauding committee passage of a bill that would require automakers to keep AM Radio in vehicles. Cruz introduced the bi-partisan AM Radio For Every Vehicle Act along with Democrat Ed Markey. It would direct the National Highway Traffic Administration to issue a rule that requires automakers to maintain AM broadcast radio in their vehicles without a separate or additional payment. Cruz -who serves as the ranking Republican on the Senate Commerce Committee- says AM Radio serves a critical function during emergencies. And, he says , it serves a vital function for free speech.
