Cornyn and Paxton to face off in Texas Senate runoff election

Download
The hotly contested Republican primary for a U-S Senate seat from Texas will continue for another three months. Neither incumbent GOP Senator John Cornyn nor Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton reached the 50 percent vote threshold needed to win the nomination. So both advance to a May 26th runoff election. The four-term Cornyn is trying to hold off Paxton, who has faced allegations of corruption and infidelity. The winner of the runoff will face State Representative James Talarico, who topped Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett in the fiercely contested Democratic primary.
