CDC Reports Sharp Rise In MPOX Cases in 2024

2024 has seen a sharp rise in cases of “MPOX”, the disease former known as Monkeypox. The CDC says the number of MPOX cases for 2024 already exceeds the number for all of last year. Health officials say there have been 582 cases of MPOX this year compared to just 299 for all of 2023. More than 32,000 cases had been detected in 2022, spread primary via sexual activity  among homosexual men.  this year’s increase has been the worst in the Mid Atlantic region—comprised of New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
