VERBATIM: Pope Francis has decided to accept the Communist Party’s unilateral appointment of a new bishop in Shanghai and formally recognize the installation of Shen Bin. The Vatican says Francis decided to accept the bishop “for the greater good” of the faithful in Shanghai.
