President Biden proudly welcomed Japanese Prime Minister Kishida to the White House for an official visit. The president and first lady received the Japanese prime minister and his wife during a pomp-filled arrival ceremony on the White House South Lawn. The president the alliance between the United States and Japan is a “cornerstone of peace, security, and prosperity.” Kishida noted that DC’s famous cherry trees, which were a gift more than a century ago, symbolize the friendship between the U-S and Japan.
