Ahead of Fed meeting, Trump calls for “bigger” interest rate cuts

President Trump continues to up the pressure on the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates. Ahead of the Fed’s two-day meeting this week, the president is calling on Fed Chairman Jerome Powell to enact a “bigger” cut to benchmark interest rates. He has complained that the housing market has suffered from high interest rates and predicted “housing will soar” if the Fed cuts rates.
