(SRN NEWS) – It’s not as usual as you might think.
In fact, Watch Night services, as they are often called, date back to the arrival of Moravian Church members in the U.S. during the early 1700’s.
These celebrations, often starting about 7pm and running ’til midnight, have since been adopted by many denominations including the Lutherans, Baptists, Methodists and Anglicans.
Due to their length, the services usually include a meal.
