(Reuters) -American Airlines said on Friday it expects some operational delays due to a major software change on a significant number of Airbus A320 jets, adding that the issue impacts about 340 aircraft at the carrier.
The carrier said it expects the vast majority of the updates to be completed by “today or tomorrow”, and that they are “intently focused” on limiting cancellations.
Europe-based Airbus on Friday ordered an immediate software change on a significant number of its best-selling A320 family of jets.
A spokesperson for Wizz Air also confirmed on Friday that some of its aircraft were among those that required an Airbus software update.
Wizz said it had scheduled necessary maintenance and that some flights over the weekend may be affected.
