A victory for religious freedom in California
The Encinitas Union School District has agreed to allow parents to opt their kids out of lessons promoting the LGBT lifestyle. That action is part of a settlement of a lawsuit brought by several moms and dads against the system. In 2025 the Supreme Court ruled that parents in Maryland have the right to opt their children out of LGBT curriculum and from reading LGBT books. That decision was based on First Amendment considerations.
