A counter attack is being launched against assisted suicide

(SRN NEWS)-Lawsuits have been filed in New York and in Illinois aimed at overturning laws permitting people to take their own life with the help of a doctor.  The suits are the work of a coalition of disability rights groups and patient advocates.  They argue that the suicide laws discriminate against people with disabilities — who are more likely to be coerced into taking their own life — and violate both the Constitution and specific federal civil rights statues.
