Israeli Forces Hunt Terrorist After Jordan Valley Stabbing Attack

By The Media Line Staff

Israeli forces launched a search for a terrorist Sunday morning after a man around 24 years old was stabbed and moderately wounded near the village of Auja, close to Jericho in the Jordan Valley, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Magen David Adom said.

The victim was attacked after stopping near a group of shops in the area. Footage of the incident shows the assailant approaching the man from behind near a row of parked vehicles, stabbing him and fleeing.

Magen David Adom treated the wounded man before evacuating him to Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem in coordination with an IDF medical force. His condition was described as moderate.

The IDF initially announced that it had received a report of a stabbing near Auja and was investigating the circumstances.

“Details are being verified,” the military said.

Israeli forces began pursuing the attacker after the stabbing, with several military units deployed to the area as part of the search.

Special forces were sent to the Jordan Valley following the attack, while military aircraft were also deployed to assist forces searching for the suspect.

The operation includes Duvdevan undercover counterterror commandos as well as soldiers from the Nitzan 636 Unit of the Judea and Samaria Region Division and the Jordan Valley Division. The military search was continuing as forces worked to locate the assailant who fled after stabbing the victim.
