Diageo’s Debra Crew takes on as interim CEO, effective immediately

(Reuters) – World’s biggest spirits company Diageo Plc said on Monday newly appointed Chief Executive Officer Debra Crew will assume the top role on an interim basis with immediate effect, instead of July 1.

Outgoing CEO Ivan Menezes is currently in hospital receiving treatment for medical conditions including a stomach ulcer, the company said in a statement.

Crew, the former chief operating officer of Diageo, was set to take over from Menezes next month.
