A second NATO member country is sending warplanes to Ukraine. A day after Poland said it would give Ukraine about a dozen MiG-29 fighter planes, Slovakia’s government approved a plan to send its fleet of Soviet-era jets to Ukraine. The response from the two NATO members comes after Ukrainian pleas for warplanes to help defend against Russia’s invasion. The White House said the moves would have no bearing on President Biden, who has resisted calls to provide American F-16s to Ukraine.
