Speaker McCarthy pledges cooperation with Biden

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy is pledging cooperation with President Biden. At the annual Friends of Ireland luncheon on Capitol Hill on St. Patrick’s Day, McCarthy recalled that President Ronald Reagan and House Speaker Tip O’Neill worked together even though they were in different political parties. He told President Biden that he wants to live up to their example. For his part, the president told the luncheon he agrees with McCarthy, saying “there’s no reason” why they can’t find common ground.
