Senator Joe Manchin is threatening to support the repeal of the president’s landmark climate bill he helped to write. Manchin says the language he help to put into last year’s Inflation Reduction Act could have done a lot of good for the U.S. economy. Under its purported aims the bill would have helped the U.S. become energy independent —thanks to fossil fuels—within TEN years, and allow for the shipment of U.S. energy to foreign allies. Hfr also says it would have lead to new technologies along the way. Now, Manchin says, it appears President Biden has broken his work, and says if the administration doesn’t change course he would -quote-“vote to repeal my own bill.”
