House Votes To Oust Omar From Foreign Affairs Committee

Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s anti-semitic comments have cost her a seat on the House Foreign Affairs Committee. House Republicans voted to oust the Somali-born Muslim lawmaker after her past comments critical of Israel, and comparing the U.S. military terrorist groups like Hamas and the Taliban. It was also a response by the new Republican majority after Democrats booted some conservative Republicans from committees in the last Congress. The Minnesota Democrat has apologized for comments that she has said she later came to understand were anti-semitic.
