Republicans in the Senate are bracing for demands from Democrats for Defense spending cuts in debate over the nation’s debt limit. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s [R-CA] moderate proposal would raise the debt-limit through a certain timeframe-March of next year-or by a dollar amount -$1.5 TRILLION-whichever comes first. The Limit, Save, Grow Act would save the taxpayers money by limiting spending at 2022 levels, most of the cuts coming in domestic spending. In the Senate that’s expected to spark demands from Democrats for parity in Defense and Domestic cuts. Something many Republicans say is a non-starter.
