Biden pauses student loan payments amid ongoing legal challenge
President Biden hit the pause button again on student loan payments while a legal battle continues over his debt forgiveness plan. The president’s debt cancellation plan, which would offer up to 20-thousand dollars in relief for millions of borrowers, remains stalled in the face of legal challenges. Conservative opponents say the White House bypassed Congress to make laws. As court battles drag on, Mr. Biden has decided to extend the pause on federal student loan payments. The moratorium was scheduled to expire on the 1st of January. Now it will extend until 60 days after the lawsuit is resolved.
