Biden calls tentative railway labor agreement an “important win”
President Biden says a tentative railway labor agreement has been reached, averting a nationwide strike. After 20 hours of nonstop negotiations at the Labor Department, rail companies and unions struck a deal that will go to union members for a vote. The president called it “an important win” for the economy, as well as both sides in the contract dispute. The White House warned that a strike would be damaging to the economy and administration officials, including the president, were actively involved in pushing for an agreement.
